Recorded in New York in 1969 but released a few years later on Freedom, this is one of the great outsider free jazz records. Raw but strangely melodic, with Noah Howard balancing deep grooves, spiritual themes and total improvisational fire. Arthur Doyle’s presence gives the whole thing an especially volatile edge.
